How to Play Shillong Teer

A simple, step-by-step guide to the rules, rounds, and claiming a win.

  1. Check your eligibility. You must be 18 or older, and Shillong Teer is only legal where permitted — it is run in Meghalaya under state regulation, so check your local laws before playing.
  2. Find a licensed Teer counter. Tickets are sold at authorized Teer association counters in Meghalaya. Buy only from licensed counters and keep your ticket slip safe.
  3. Choose your guti number. Pick any two-digit number from 00 to 99. This is called your "guti". Some players also place bets on a single digit — the house or ending number.
  4. Pick a round and a stake. Decide whether you are betting on the first round (F/R) or the second round (S/R) and how much to wager. Sales close before each round's draw time.
  5. Collect your ticket slip. The counter issues a slip showing your number, round, and stake. This slip is your only proof of the bet — keep it until results are confirmed.
  6. Check the result and claim. After the round's result is declared, compare your number with the winning number. If you win, claim your prize at the same licensed counter with your slip within the stated claim period.
Play responsibly. Teer is a game of chance — never bet money you cannot afford to lose, never chase losses, and never play if it is not legal in your location. You must be 18 or older to participate.
